How it all began…

It's fascinating finding out how a business began, where the idea came from or how someone goes from 'employee' to 'entrepreneur'. My journey probably isn’t unique, but the concept for NIMA literally came together overnight, bringing together years of thoughts and ideas into one.

The mind has a tendency to wander when feeding a newborn at 2am. But on one particular night at my girlfriend's parents place in Finland, trying to rock my newborn son back to sleep, my mind revisited all of my previous ideas and challenged me to consider the answer to "Why do you not run your own business yet?".

I realised two things. One, I hadn't found the 'right' idea, and two, that was always my excuse. It dawned on me however that all of those previous ideas were actually smaller parts of what would make a bigger business great!

And so... I started NIMA. I remembered a quote I’d heard several times before, "A great idea is worthless without execution", so I paid to register and start the company that night and here we are, finally bringing NIMA to the world.

But what is NIMA?

NIMA is my way of aspiring for a peaceful and balanced life against the backdrop of the chaotic world we currently live in.

Making conscious choices to have a positive impact on the planet, and the people on it, and slowing things down so the one life I have doesn’t pass me by. It’s my way of building a home and lifestyle that feels safe, cozy and natural. It’s Nordic Inspired with a Modern and Minimal Aesthetic.
